This form may be completed to advise the Airport Operations team at Karratha Airport of any activities that may conflict with safe flight operations. This may include (but not limited to) high-reach cranes, building constructions, erecting masts (temporary or permanent), rocket firing, and stack flaring. If in doubt, please complete and submit the form. If appropriate, the Airport Operations team will request a NOTAM on your behalf.
Guideline Criteria for Submitting Form:
If your activity:
1. Is within 15km of Karratha Airport, and
2. Is a new or temporary construction above 20 metres of the ground, or
3. Is a significant flaring operation, or
4. Is otherwise considered a hazard to aviation.
Then you will need to submit this form.
There are no costs imposed by Karratha Airport for the NOTAM request. However, if your construction requires an assessment by CASA (or their survey contractor) to ensure it does not interfere with a published flight route, then costs for the assessment may be imposed by them. This will be discussed with you before any costs are incurred.
